Andeer - Valley Schons: Pleasure and Wellness as season prelude

Switzerland - Europe

Andeer - Andeer
21.01 - 26.01.2024
In Andeer we are at the intersection of three large Graubünden high valleys, the Val Schons or Schamserberg, the Rheinwald and the Avers. The touring possibilities are fantastic, the snow is always good somewhere and relaxation is not neglected in the Andeer mineral baths.
We will be accommodated and pampered in the traditional Hotel Fravi, which was built in 1828 by Johann Jakob Fravi Gondini as a bathing and spa hotel. The hotel has direct access to the mineral baths! A ski touring week could not be more beautiful and enjoyable.

Your advantages at a glance:

- enjoyable day tours with light backpacks in Val Schons, Avers and Rheinwald
- first-class accommodation in the traditional Hotel Fravi
- direct access to the bathing and sauna area in the mineral baths of Andeer
- in Graubünden we are at home, here we know every stone :-)

Day ski tours in the high valleys of Schamserberg, Avers and Rheinwald. Possible tour destinations are Parpeinahorn, Chlin Hüreli, Mittaghorn, Lattenhorn, Beverin Pintg, Feil, Muttner Horn, Tguma and others.

Pure enjoyment and wellness is the motto of this week, spiced with a pinch of culture and history. An ideal start to the ski touring season, for pleasure-seekers and those who want to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life and stress behind and switch off.
We are at home in Graubünden, here we know every peak and can offer you a great tour every day with the best possible snow conditions. After the tours we visit local restaurants and sights and of course benefit from the spa, which we reach directly from the hotel.

Day 1: Meeting point at 18.00 at the Hotel Fravi in Andeer. You can check into your room from 2.30 p.m. so that you can already benefit from the mineral bath on the first day. Dinner together, equipment check and discussion of the first tour.

Day 2: From Lohn, 1585 m, we enjoy a varied ascent to the Zwölfihorn, 2292 m, with great views of the Heinzenberg and Domleschg. Enjoyable descent to Lohn or Mathon, with a stop at the Muntsulej inn.
700 m altitude difference, ascent time approx. 2 1/2 hours.

Day 3: Start in Stierva, 1370 m, high above the Schin Gorge. Pleasure tour to the Feil North Peak, 2442 m. This easily accessible vantage point with a beautiful view into the Val Schons often offers a magnificent powder snow descent.
1070 m altitude difference, ascent time approx. 4 hours.

Day 4: Detour to nearby Avers, where we climb the easy and attractive ski mountain Chlin Hüreli, 2798 m. Grandiose view of the Piz Platta, with a stop at the Hotel Bergalga.
950 m altitude difference, ascent time approx. 3 1/2 hours.

Day 5: Today we visit the Rhine Forest. From the bridge over the Hinterrhein at Nufenen, 1540 m, we climb over open meadows and a short stretch of forest to Horneralp. Wide slopes then lead us to the Wannagrat, 2431 m, a ridge shoulder below the mighty Einshorn, 2943 m. Great descent back to Nufenen.
900 m altitude difference, ascent time approx. 3 hours.

Day 6: Today the final tour to the Parpeinahorn, 2602 m, is on the programme, with ascent from Mathon on the Schamserberg. On the summit we enjoy the panoramic view of half of Graubünden for the last time. After the descent we visit the Center da Capricorns in Wergenstein.
1080 metres altitude difference, ascent time approx. 4 hours.

This tour programme is only a suggestion, many other great ski tour destinations are possible. We adapt the actual programme to the weather and snow conditions, the current avalanche situation and the ability and wishes of the participants.
